We had quite an adventure that day. While I was sitting at the desk filling out the paperwork and ordering our crib, Sam took a little walk around the store. He came back after a minute with some teeny tiny, adorable baby boy shoes. He loved them. Then he left again, and came back a few minutes later with a 5 pack of onesies for boys. They had little baseballs on them, or stars, and one of them read, "property of mom". He really liked those.Once more he left the desk, and return this time wearing a one shouldered Urban Daddy diaper bag. He wore it so proudly, and showed both me, and the saleswoman what all the pockets were for. I loved every minute, and wished I had our camera to document the genuine excitement of this dad-to-be, while the saleswoman worked hard to stifle her laugher. When Sam left the desk again she said with a smirk, "I think he is excited".
Anyway, after we had ordered out the crib, Sam suggested we check out the strollers.
Strollers after all are as wide in size, shape, color, utility and price as a new car. It takes a lot of research before you can decide what you want!! So we found one that we hadn't seen before that we loved. Colors weren't too barfy, not to heavy, adjusts easily in all the right places, folds up with the touch of one little button. Perfect! We made a mental note that we thought this was, THE ONE.
On our way out, we saw the exact stroller and car seat/baby carrier all shiny and new (and assembled!). Turns out, it was on sale. We decided it was fate and bought it. On the way home, instead of throwing it in the back of the car, Sam set up the baby car seat with a seat belt and all, and drove very carefully all the way. I think he wanted to practice his "dad" driving. The best was watching him steer it from the car to the house, with his taco bell cup in the drink holder.
